Anxiety Therapy for Teens and Adults in Philadelphia
You’re not alone in your anxiety. Anxiety is a natural human emotion, but when it starts to feel overwhelming or constant, it can interfere with your daily life and well-being. Anxiety disorders are very common, affecting both teens and adults. If you or your teenager are struggling with persistent worry, sudden panic attacks, or intense fears, please know that support and effective treatment are available.
Understanding Anxiety
Anxiety-related disorders encompass a wide range of conditions, from generalized anxiety about everyday worries to sudden panic attacks that seem to arise out of nowhere. Some people feel a constant, nagging worry about many aspects of life, while others experience abrupt surges of fear that bring on a racing heart, sweating, and shortness of breath. Anxiety can also show up as specific phobias, social anxiety, or a persistent sense of dread.
Mental symptoms may include:
-
Persistent worry or racing thoughts
-
Intrusive or repetitive thoughts
-
Difficulty concentrating
-
Feeling on edge or restless
Physical symptoms may include:
-
Muscle tension
-
Racing or pounding heart
-
Shortness of breath
-
Nausea or stomachaches
-
Trouble sleeping
These experiences can be distressing and confusing, but the important thing to remember is that anxiety is treatable. With the right strategies and support, lasting relief is possible.
My Approach to Treating Anxiety
In my practice, I focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which are considered the most effective approaches for anxiety treatment.
With CBT, we look at how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Together, we’ll identify anxious thought patterns and work on reframing them into more balanced and realistic perspectives. This isn’t about ignoring your worries but about learning to accept them and relate to them in a calmer, more constructive way.
ERP focuses on gradually facing the situations or sensations you’ve been avoiding. Avoidance often makes anxiety stronger over time, while gently confronting fears can retrain the brain to recognize that these situations are manageable. We’ll create a step-by-step plan that helps you build tolerance and confidence without pushing you too far, too fast.
Through these approaches, you’ll learn practical tools to reduce anxiety in the moment while also addressing its root causes. Over time, this work helps you feel more resilient and capable of handling whatever life throws your way.

Support for Teens, Adolescents, and Adults
I work with both young people and adults who are struggling with anxiety. For teens, anxiety may show up as school stress, social fears, or difficulty navigating friendships and responsibilities. For adults, it may involve chronic worry, panic attacks, or avoidance of opportunities because of fear.
No matter your age, therapy is tailored to your unique circumstances situation. Sessions are conversational and collaborative, giving you space to feel heard while developing strategies that fit your life stage and goals.
Telehealth Therapy Across 40 States
I provide therapy exclusively online, offering the flexibility and privacy of telehealth. You can access anxiety therapy from the comfort of your home, whether you live in Philadelphia or in a completely different state. Many people find that telehealth makes it easier to fit therapy into their schedules, and research shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions for treating anxiety.
